All students attend weekly lessons and have the opportunity to participate in frequent recitals, such as the Sunday Series recitals at St. Andrew's Church and the annual Family and Friends recital at Ashbury College. Other activities are organized according to age (please see below).
3-7 year olds participate in group classes. As well as performing for each other, children learn about:
- Rhythm
- Note reading
- Musical terms
- Performance etiquette
- Much more!
8-12 year olds participate in mini-workshops, review their repertoire together in keyboard play-ins, and attend an NAC Family Adventures concert with a family member. Recent workshop topics include:
- Body percussion
- What's Broadway?
- Glenn Gould
- Oscar Peterson
Teens participate in a wide variety of events, such as:
- Duetathons
- Chamber music workshops with local strings students
- Masterclasses with visiting clinicians
